Description
The ARDESIA, a metamorphic rock of sedimentary origin, is also known as “LAVAGNA“, a word that comes from the name of the homonymous locality of the Riviera di Levante that until the last century was the Italian commercial center of this material.
Since theARDESIA tends to lighten since the moment of extraction, becoming a light gray pigmentation (the dark shade is due to carbon residues that volatilize once in contact with oxygen, humidity and ultraviolet radiation). Wet effect that brings out the intense black color of the material.
Being a marble that tends to flake, it is particularly appreciated with the “natural split” processing that gives the surface a rustic and natural effect.
